Already at the village centre to receive them was a very thick crowd of admirers and supporters made up of their fiancés, brothers and sisters and other elderly men and women waiting almost impatiently to catch a glimpse and enjoy the beautiful and delightful tunes the girls would render in celebration of their forebears, parents or in some cases to poke fun or pull the legs of one another and even satirize the weakness or praise the characters of one another.
There at the centre they were received with a great deal of joy and admiration and ushered in straight into the centre of the village square where they danced round and form a circle. The women beat their musical instruments made up of ase sekere and agogo while the beauties came out in pairs and in turns to sing and perform (Sweet Roots- Seinde Arogbofa, UPPLC)
